Welcome to part two of the latest Plethora of Pop Writing Challenge.

Thanks to Buddy Gott for getting the ball rolling, and to Candace Estelle for keeping it rolling with Part Two. This time, we’re choosing our Top 10 TV Shows for a Desert Island.

If you’ve caught up with Part One, you’ll know I’m stuck in the Maatsuyker Island Lighthouse for six months, and the movies only got me through the first day or so.

TV Shows fortunately run a little longer than that, so this should keep me busy for a month before I have to get back to watching David Lynch’s Dune for the 127th time.

What qualifies as a TV Show?

When I was a kid, we watched an actual TV. I can’t remember exactly when we got a colour TV, but most of these shows I originally saw in black and white.

Is HBO TV? It’s different, but in some key ways, it’s the same. A series made up of standard length episodes. Yet I feel they’re two distinct eras. I’ve therefore split my selections accordingly, one for my youth when we watched TV, and one for a more contemporary perspective, reflecting on our viewing habits in the multi media era.
