We see in others what we don’t like about ourselves.

“I can’t stand Barry, he’s just so arrogant”.

You get the picture.

If you’re a hypocrite, there is nothing more comforting than pointing out someone else who’s a bigger hypocrite.

Dunning Kruger Effect

The cognitive bias where people with low ability at a task overestimate their ability. More simply, we’re rarely as smart as we like think we are.

Keep this in mind next time you become enamoured with your own genius.

Similar to the Bunnings Kruger Effect. Bunnings is a large hardware chain in Australia. Just because you can buy the materials, doesn’t mean you can built it.
