A famous comedian said something to the effect that he had know idea what was funny. He knew what he thought was funny but the only way to find out if a joke was really funny was to tell it.

The only way to tell if our "nothings" are somethings is to tell people. I feel like Medium is the writing equivalent of stand up comedy sometimes. It must be nice to sit down and knock out a novel every two years, but I don't think we have the same luxury here. The audience must be kept engaged.
