An interesting premise. It reminds me of that sci fi meme "download the ability to play guitar like Segovia" and bypass all that wasted time practicing. The problem, of course, being that everyone ends up playing like Segovia and no one can be bothered taking the time to journey somewhere else. Creativity is forged by the journey not the destination.
There is a real problem in the movie soundtrack industry at the moment where "the time saving" results in everything sounding the same. Like your storyboard example, the director goes "just use the battle scene from LOTR as a positional, and we'll sort it out later...". The problem is that once the influence has been asserted it's very hard to unwrap.
Still, I like your party analogy, and I'm looking forward to joining the party myself.
