Despite being inkless, I've nothing against tattoos. My cousin looks like he was in the navy.

Still, I can understand the urge of young people wanting to do something "rad", to which I make two points.

Market research at the local supermarket indicates "rad" comes in two varieties - face/neck tattoos and green hair. The market research also indicate that people with green hair typically look rather happy while people with face tattoos look kinda sad. So, young person, if you're thinking of doing something "rad", go with the green hair.

Second point, as always, do the research. Chinese characters? Make sure they don't mean "This boy is a fucking idiot" before you go too far. I recall sitting on a train overhearing two young ladies talking about their recently acquired tattoos. "Wow, I think it's so rad that you got a tattoo of the Jesus fish when you're not a Christian." "Jesus fish?". "Yeh, that design you chose is the Jesus fish."
