There are now 2 billion websites in the world, of which 25% are active.

That’s 500 million active websites.

This is a tenfold increace since 2010.

That’s a lot of content and a lot of design work.

But how much of that design work happens from scratch?

Very little.

If you’re not a graphic designer, programmer, artist and web designer rolled into one, then it is very hard to start from scratch. Without a significant budget, employing a team to do it for you isn’t possible.

It makes sense to turn to the tools available and when it comes to websites, that means a template.
