I can only echo the other comments, a beautiful piece. I think I got a little tear reading this one, and that Sting song came into my head, "If you love someone, set them free." And perhaps they were honest enough to see that the tank was empty and the final act was not a rejection rather an understanding that the only honourable thing left to do was to set you free.
