I don’t believe in fate, but I do think about how our mind might try to establish “inevitabilities”. Words have different interpretations depending on whether they come from within, or without, and, of course, the tone in which they are said. I’d like to say this to myself because I’d know what I meant. Not so sure about having it said to me.

Is there such a thing as a parallel tangent?

I’m not sure if I’m meant to enjoy drifting through your thoughts, but I do. Nothing happens in isolation. Except our thoughts.
