I guess in Australia it's a lot easier to be a casual Grateful Dead fan, having never witnessed the Dead Head phenomena. They never toured here. I like the psychedelic stuff like Dark Star and Anthem of the Sun, as well as Garcia's numerous guest appearances such a Blows Against the Empire.

There must have been some fan here, though. I had a friend who used to go on about an ex-girlfriend. She was beautiful, intelligent, witty, everything! "So why did you split up with her?" "She thought the Grateful Dead were a better band than the Beatles."
