I think AI might be a minor part of the problem but I think it's something Medium tidies up fairly well. A bigger problem is a fundamental bias towards new writers. That of course makes sense on a number of levels, but I can understand how that is frustrating for writers who've put in a lot of effort.

Also, when people are seeing massive external views and virtually nothing internally, something I've seen many writers mention and something I've experienced, I think it points to Mediums's "quality" mantra not being quite as robust as they might claim.
