I'm an atheist and I don't believe Jesus is the son of god in any literal sense. I would say I acknowledge Christmas rather than celebrate it.

In essence, it is the story of a child born in the lowliest of circumstances, a stable, whom kings come to celebrate. This is the way the world should be and it is a story every child deserves to hear.

Yes, this message has been somewhat obscured by commercialisation, but it is never too late to reclaim it.
