Rex on the bridge over the creek at the shack. By the author

It’s a while since I’ve written a (serious) Tassie story and felt happily inspired after reading Charlotte Ella King’s tales of walking her dog, Bruno, in the forest.

What happier memory is there than taking Rex for a walk in the forest? So here are some happy snaps, featuring none other than our courageous Rex Corgi in the forests of Tasmania, around the Tyenna River.

We crossed the Tyenna River in the van and turned right, driving down between the river and an old pine forest.

It wasn’t exactly Secret Squirrel*, but it was a little out of the way.

We weren’t far from the rural town of Maydena. The path at the end takes you into a rarely seen waterfall. It’s a long walk. Usually, we just take the path to the end before the path turns up into the deep forest.
