It sure does. I visited the States in 2000. I was a little shocked at how creaky their infrastructure looked. With the likes of East Palestine, Ohio, this has clearly only accelerated.

Can't help but feel for the US this is an issue "for later" while global hegemony must be achieved now so they can deal with it later. China may be out-politicked, but they are typically more long term thinkers who move slower.

With domestic issues coming to a head in the US, they don't seem particularly keen on waiting either.
