It’s a close call. I love the Blues Brothers movie, mostly, except when Dan and John sing. Rawhide and Stand by your Man are funny, but the guys aren’t Soul Men.

REO Speedwagon? Boring and generic, damn them and that catchy chorus. Serviceable, I guess, if bland stadium rock is your thing.

So for me, the final thumbs down goes to the Blues Brothers. Great film, great musicians, but if we’re talking R&B? Go buy a Ray Charles record instead.
