I’ve been here myself and if I hadn’t witnessed it first hand, I would have found it hard to believe. When my wife and I ran the restaurant together it was my wife who actually owned the business. Everyone, well mostly men, from bank managers to customers found this hard to believe and were always like “we’re the man?”, particularly before I joined the business. Customers doing the whole “I want to speak to the owner” after having been put in there place, absolutely refused to believe she was the owner, assuming it must be the (male) waiter.

Infuriating. Men who pretend sexism is a thing of the past are delusional.
