LOL, did a little research and her dad was some sort of Cliff Richard style pop star in the sixties and the genesis of Kids in America was a cynical as you'd expect (her dad and brother wrote the songs), gimme some of the OMD sound! I do have to admit my heart softened towards her when I saw that video of her drunkedly belting out Kids in America on the London Underground.
