OK, I'm a Mac person and find Linux tolerable and Windows unbearable. However, the premise of your opening paragraph is correct. After 38 years, what have they learned? Fixing problems that don't exist. Finder file search is still garbage. Introducing features I don't want to obscure features that used to work fine.

The reason for having these things is not because they're made by Apple, Dell, Lenovo or whoever. It's because they've got a computer inside and any OS company not focused on making that computer easier to use have forgotten why the customer is here in the first place.
