One of the diversions from my creative career was running a restaurant in Swanston St, Melbourne. The restaurant was on the first floor and Swanston St is a very busy street.
Needless to say, there was a pile of stuff in the corner that at some point had to go.
There was a green bench out front and we'd simply go down stairs and put one work on the bench at a time. Every now and then, I'd pop over to the window for a SITREP. "Still there...". "Still there..."
When I finally called out "Gone" a cheer would go up through the restaurant. I was great fun and I wonder where some of those pieces ended up.
