Since 2000 it feels like rock, particularly the more commercial end of the spectrum has lionised a certain “rootsy” conservatism spawning a deluge of bands-in-nature videos that are often beautifully shot and utterly forgettable. Just boring.

I don’t know either of these songs, yet I knew both bands would have one. I watched with the sound off as someone is sleeping in the next room. I’m certainly not going to go back and listen later. Imagine seeing Ashes to Ashes with the sound off and not wanting to hear what it sounds like?
