Some interesting statistics. I would, however, interpret them differently. A cursory inspection of society would suggest we’re not more collective minded at all. The focus individual is now the listener, not the performers. For many, music is merely a lifestyle accessory, thus any individual performer is less important.

Dance, in particular, has become integral to individual lifestyles, thus bass and drums become emphasised.

Just my opinion. I appreciate the thoughtfulness that goes into your writing.
