Something’s Wrong

…and it’s not just that the Authentic Eclectic has got a rant competition with the deadline approaching fast and I’ve basically got nothing, so I’m just going to pull this one off the heap, after a few failed attempts to get it in shape for other rant competitions, polish it up a bit and remind myself that a good rant never suffers from being completely irrational.

…and it’s not just that this completely obsessive rant was never going to get published but then this writing prompt popped up (no, not this one, a different one) and I was like, yeh, maybe this is a good fit, but it’s not very funny so I’m going to have to work some jokes in which is feasible but going to be difficult.

…and it’s not just that my mother-in-law has had a heart attack and is in hospital and my wife has had to jump on a plane and things are feeling fragile. OK, update, she’s out of hospital and has moved in with us and my wife seems to think this has uncovered a new superpower of mine which is to keep little old ladies entertained. She laughs at my jokes, bless her soul. I like her cat, too. OK, update 2. Hospital again. OK, update 3, she’s in the nursing home, can’t…
