There is something strangely haunting about unsolved deaths. The victim lives on in a way that those who live a quiet, normal life don’t. And not just “quiet, normal” lives, but unexamined lives. It’s interesting how this minor mystery evokes an entire era.

And our desire for heightened interpretation, “a spy” seems so much more exciting than a sad bastard who walked out on his wife.

I love they way you’ve weaved all the threads together.
