There is wisdom in everything. So, we can answer this question without reading the other article. There are two main points, of many, and they are: Firstly, there is an article doing the rounds on Medium, I expect it has 100,000s of reads. It’s about a “be yourself” session. Just speak your mind! This guy does, and everyone goes “you can’t say that!” So free thinking in the corporate sense is a charade, which you rightly point out.
Secondly, the issue of trust. It seems like some of the editors here are too heavy handed. This is Medium, not the New Yorker, spare me the need the jump through hoops for five reads from my best buddies and a grand total of fifty cents. Relax! Which is to say, if I had a humour publication and you submitted the brutal stabbing of your grandmother without a hint of irony, I’d just go sure, Carlo knows what he’s doing! It’s called trust.
Great piece, btw, you’ve added to the absurdity, perfectly. Now, off to read the other one.
