This one really hits a chord at the moment on two fronts. One, an old friend has been going through a rough patch, years of hard work have taken a toll on his body and the pain medication, well his doctor finally switched him to something else. He's getting back to his former self, but as you say, time for some maintenance.

Secondly, the word that jumped out at me was busyness. Often some of the work that we put the most effort into, the day job, is neither gold nor silver, but more like a lead weight. I ask myself, what am I actually maintaining here? I'm feeling a change is needed.

Most relationships start out as a lightening storm, but it's hard for them to stay that way. Some become steady flowing rivers while others, a puddle that dries up.

Thanks for the mention, it's heartwarming to feel I've made a contribution. A timely reminder to not let my busyness get in the way of friends, to show up and keep the river flowing.
