Very thoughtful and thought provoking. Assumptions, we can be fast to make them.

I was walking my dog before dawn when I saw something on the path ahead. A dog on the loose? Clearly the most dangerous option. No, too small. A cat perhaps. No, cats don't move like that. A possum? They can certainly injure a dog. As I got closer I realised it was just a puffed up paper bag rocking back and forth in the wind.

So my first assumption was the most catastrophic, which quickly faded when I had more information. So yes to curiosity and the work. It's funny, part of the reason I got to see myself more clearly was because other people weren't involved.
