Wagner is an interesting one. While Ride of the Valkyrie may be high in the pop culture imagination, without a doubt his most played tune is the Bridal Chorus. How many times does that get played at weddings every year and how many of the guests even know it's written by Wagner? So for most guests, the art and the artist are entirely separate.

Clapton? I don't know. I've never been much of a fan of his solo stuff, but the bands? Cream, the Yardbirds, Bluebreakers, Blind Faith and Derek and the Dominoes? He didn't make these records by himself so is guilt by association OK?

Probably not. Having seen Darlene Love on many of the recent Christmas Song Lists there didn't seem to be much umbrage at the producer being an actual murderer.
