When it comes to the actual writing process, I find music very helpful for blocking out background noise and distractions, yet I can't listen to anything with lyrics or anything too dynamic, which ultimately means lots of ambient music (Eno, Emit, FAX etc.) of which I've got hours and hours.

Anything and everything if I'm just brainstorming ideas.
