Yep, pretty much nailed it for me. Chose Hobart over Barcelona, which is definitely more bearable than Melbourne but public transport here is a complete joke. Funnily enough one of the reasons we liked Hobart was we saw a car with a parking ticket - $25!

I find the whole nanny state thing weird, Australians are no where near as laid back as they like to think they are.
